Wat verder nog ter tafel komt… en wat eraf! Het tweede rokje dat ik maakte van dit patroon is gemaakt van een tafelkleed dat ik bij de kringloopwinkel kocht.

The second skirt from this pattern is made from a tablecloth I bought at a secondhand store.

Het vorige rokje was wat aan de grote kant. Dat heb ik heel simpel opgelost door bij de zijnaden in plaats van de in het patroon opgenomen 1,5 cm naadtoeslag de naad op 2 cm te naaien. Nu is ‘ie precies op maat. Ik denk echter wel dat als ik dit patroon nog een keer maak (en die kans zit er dik in) en het is een stretchstof, er nog wel een klein stukje af kan. Maar voor een stof zonder stretch is dit helemaal goed.

The previous skirt I made from this pattern was a bit too big. I easily solved that by sewing the side seams at 2 cm instead of the 1,5 cm provided in the pattern. Now the fit is spot on. However, I think that if I’ll make this skirt again (I probably will) and the fabric has stretch in it, I wil have to take it in a teeny bit more. But for a no-stretch fabric like this it is perfect.

Vers uit de douche, vandaar de natte haren. Wat vinden jullie trouwens van de kleur van dit shirt? Ik kocht het omdat ik het hiervoor wil gebruiken. Ik dacht altijd dat deze kleur mij niet stond, maar toen ik het aantrok viel het me best mee en als ik het zo zie vind ik het eigenlijk best leuk.

Fresh out of the shower, hence the wet hair. By the way, what do you guys think of the colour of the shirt? I bought it to use it for this, and I always thought that this was a colour that didn’t look good on me. But when I put it on it wasn’t that bad and now I’m actually starting to like it.

Tsja, wat moet ik nog meer vertellen over dit patroon? Ik hoop dat dat stof het een poosje volhoudt, het ziet er best oud uit. En ondanks dat het niet bepaald bestaat uit kleuren die ik vaak draag, vind ik het toch wel erg leuk. Er zitten bloemen op. De oplettende lezers/plaatjeskijkers onder jullie hebben vast wel gemerkt dat ik van stofjes met bloemen houd. Bewijsmateriaal?

What else is there to tell about this pattern? I hope the fabric will hold up, it looks quite old. And even though the colours aren’t the ones I usually wear I really like it. Observant readers (or photobrowsers) probably already noticed  that I love fabric with flowers. Evidence?

Het leek mij mooi staan aan de binnenkant als het beleg van de tailleband afgewerkt zou worden met een biasbandje.  Ziet er goed uit he? Verder zie je op bovenstaande foto de plooien in het voorpand en het ienimini zoompje. Dat deed ik omdat dit rokje wat hoger op de heupen valt dan de vorige en ik hem niet te kort wilde hebben.

I thought it would be nice to finish the waistband facing with some biastape. Doesn’t it look nice? On the photo above you can also see the pleats in the skirt front and the teeny tiny hem. I made it so small because this skirt sits a little higher on my hips and I didn’t wat it to be too short.

Dit is zo’n fijn modelletje, wellicht verschijnt hier binnenkort wel een derde versie. Drie keer is tenslotte scheepsrecht toch?

This is such a nice pattern, there might be a third version soon. After all, third time’s a charm right?
