Een tijdje terug vroeg ik jullie om hulp bij het kiezen van een patroon om te maken voor Jungle January. Superfijn dat zoveel mensen hun voorkeur lieten weten! Uiteindelijk heb ik alle adviezen wel in de wind geslagen 🙂 Hoe meer stemmen er kwamen voor het rokje of het Simplicity jasje, hoe beter ik zelf eigenlijk wist wat ik wilde maken.

Some time ago I asked you guys for help on choosing which pattern to make for Jungle January. It was so great that a lot of people popped in their preference! In the end, I made something different than most of you advised 🙂 The more people told me to make the skirt or the Simplicity jacket, the more I knew what I really wanted to make.

En ik ben er helemaal mee in mijn nopjes!

Ja, hij is anders dan het patroon. Ik heb de vouwlijn voor het overslag-stukje als halslijn gebruikt, zodat ‘ie wat lager uitgesneden is. En ik heb aan de voorkant een asymmetrische sluiting gemaakt. Leek me leuk! Haha nee, de onderkant van het voorpand was te groot en stak uit. Niet zo charmant, en ik had de prinsessennaden al doorgestikt (goede les Inge! niet meer doen! eerst kijken of het past!!). Uiteraard had ik geen zin om dat allemaal los te halen, en dus heb ik er wat extra drukknoopjes in gemept 🙂

I made a few changes to the pattern. I cut on the folding line of the ‘flap’ to make a deeper neckline. And I made a asymmetric front closure. I thought that would look better. Haha no, it fitted really weird, the front stuck out quite a bit. And I had already topstitched the princess seams (learn this lesson Inge! Fit first, then finish!) and was to lazy to take it all out. So I put in some more snaps 🙂

Verder had ik nog een heel verhaal bedacht over uit je comfort zone stappen, hoe goed dat soms is, en dat het goed is voor je zelfvertrouwen enzo, maar onze CV-ketel is stuk gegaan en de monteur laat helaas even op zich wachten. Mijn vingers worden nu echt té koud, dus jullie moeten het voor vandaag even met de foto’s doen. Sorry!

Furthermore, I had thought out this story about getting out of your comfort zone, how good that can be for your selfconfidence etc, but our heater broke down and were still waiting for the maintenance guy. My fingers are really too cold, so you will have to make do with the pictures. Sorry!
